Shakespeare Tower Response to Barbican Centre Signage proposal

Thanks to everyone who sent in comments. Here’s the Shakespeare Tower response

I am writing on behalf of the Shakespeare Tower House Group (a Recognised Tenants Association).
We object to the new proposed signage at EXT 007 on the following grounds:
the lighting of this sign is unnecessary and intrusive to the nearby residents of Shakespeare Tower and Defoe House. The existing 4Bs sign which has a much lower contrast than the proposed EXT 007 sign is perfectly visible 24 hours a day,
the proposal does not address the impact of witness marking, which will be evident after the removal of the existing 4Bs,
there is no evidence that the offset of the sign will discourage its use as a pigeon roost.

If these three issues are addressed, we would be happy to support the proposal.
